01Day 1

Day 1

Waterfall
Boka

Boka is a waterfall in the Goriška region of western Slovenia, where a karst spring bursts from a rock wall and drops into the Soča valley. It is one of the most powerful waterfalls in the country, especially after rain or snowmelt. It lies near Bovec, and a short uphill path leads to a viewpoint above the falls.

Waterfall
Kozjak Falls

Kozjak is a waterfall on the Kozjak stream near Kobarid in the Goriška region, where the water drops into a pool inside a narrow rock chamber. It is worth visiting for this unusual enclosed setting, reached along a short walking path with wooden walkways. The walk starts from the Kobarid area and suits an easy half-day outing in the Soča valley.

Waterfall
Virje Falls

Virje Falls is a waterfall on the Gljun stream near Plužna, a short distance from Bovec in the upper Soča Valley, Goriška region. The water drops over a rock ledge into a green pool, making it an easy and rewarding stop for day-trippers in the area. It is reached by a short, gentle walk from the road, suitable for most visitors.

02Day 2

Day 2

Spring
Tolminka

The Tolminka is a mountain river in the Goriška region of western Slovenia, and this point marks its spring area in the hills above Tolmin. It is a quiet spot to see where clear Alpine water emerges before flowing down toward the town. Reaching it means a walk on mountain terrain north of Tolmin, so sturdy footwear is sensible.

Castle
Tolmin Castle

Tolmin Castle, also known as the Castle on Kozlov Rob above Tolmin, is a fortress ruin on the ridge of Kozlov Rob above the town of Tolmin in southwestern Slovenia.

Good to know

Boka is seen from a viewpoint by the road or reached by a steep hour-long trail. Kozjak is a 20-minute walk from the Napoleon bridge car park at Kobarid; the last section is on wooden walkways. Virje and the Tolminka spring are short walks on marked paths; the Tolmin gorge nearby needs a ticket.
