A field guide to the quiet corners of Slovenia
vianook is an independent catalog of lakes, waterfalls, gorges, springs, caves, castles and viewpoints in Slovenia, with a planner that turns them into a day on the road.
The catalog holds about 2 200 places. They come from open data — OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons — and are checked and completed by hand where we can. Photos keep their authors and licenses; descriptions are written from the facts we hold, not from marketing copy.
The planner times a day on real roads (OpenRouteService), knows how long a visit usually takes, and lets you plan the drive around a child's nap, a dog's walk or an electric car's charge. Restaurants, playgrounds, toilets, chargers and lodging along the road come from OpenStreetMap too.
What it is not: a booking site, a review site or an advertising platform. There are no accounts and no tracking beyond anonymous page counts. Trips live in your browser and in the links you share.
It is made by one person in Slovenia and is free to use. Mistakes happen — the feedback page is the fastest way to get one fixed.
